What this game is

Dressmaker, described from the checked sources

The store listing and the developer's own material describe the game; everything below stays inside what those sources actually say.

Dressmaker is a sewing and fashion-design simulation from Cozy Lives and Free Lives, released on Steam on September 21, 2026. The loop the official material describes is a commission loop: a customer asks for a garment, you choose a pattern and materials, you sew it, and the finished piece is judged against the request.

That makes the useful reference material narrow and specific. A player wants to know what a commission asked for, what a fabric or accessory costs, which attributes a pattern expects, and whether the finished dress clears the limits. Those are exactly the records this site collects, and each one is published only after a dated source can be attached to it.

Plenty of numbers are still unpublished. Exact fabric costs, accessory attributes, commission budgets and quality thresholds are not restated here until they can be checked, because an invented value is worse than an empty table: it sends a player into a commission with the wrong plan. Where a value is missing, the page says so instead of estimating.

Commission records

Commission requests to plan for

Each published record holds a budget, the attribute minimums and maximums the customer set, and the date the request was checked.

No commission record is published yet. A request stays internal until its budget and every attribute limit can be traced to a dated source. Publishing an approximate budget would send players into a commission with the wrong plan.

How a record is verified
  • BudgetThe gold ceiling the customer set for the finished garment.
  • Attribute limitsEach minimum or maximum the request states, recorded field by field.
  • Source dateThe version and date the values were read, so a stale record is obvious.

A practical starting point

From request to finished look

The sequence below organises the task around the fields this site can currently help you check.

  1. 01

    Read the request

Note the commission budget and each minimum or maximum attribute shown in your game before choosing anything.

  2. 02

    Plan the garment

Compare pattern, fabric and accessory choices. A community guide can explain terminology and workflow, but it cannot supply the numbers your session shows.

  3. 03

    Check the numbers

Run the values you have verified through the checker. Material stats that are still unknown stay unknown instead of being filled in by guesswork.

  4. 04

    Review the result

Treat a passing result as a check against the values you entered, not as an official game recipe or a guaranteed score.

Core tool

Check a commission against your own numbers

The checker compares a budget and a set of attribute limits with the outfit values you enter. It is deliberately manual: a blank attribute never counts as a pass, and no missing fabric, pattern or accessory value is filled in for you.

Use it after you have read the request in your own session. The result is a check against the values on screen, not an official game formula or a guaranteed score.

Database status

What the reference tables hold today

These counts come straight from the published records, so an empty table is visible here rather than hidden behind a loading state.

Verified data is still growing. The fabric, pattern, accessory and commission collections have no published records yet, so use in-game values or a traceable source for a manual check in the meantime.

Patch Notes - Build 410

A small UX patch made sketchbook component names clickable, stopped the mouse wheel rotating cutting-room panels over inventory, added thread-colour selection, added mannequin placement hints, and fixed a tutorial softlock before the bell.

Our First Patch Is Live! - Build 403

The first post-launch patch fixed the cutting-room tutorial cursor, enabled the back button during the store tutorial, changed customer summoning to the bell, corrected lace tags and failed-commission payouts, fixed a keyhole bodice, and repaired shop buttons on very wide displays.

Guides built from method, not from guesses

10 guides cover the whole loop — reading a request, measuring, cutting, assembling and checking the result — without publishing a number that has no source.

Editorial rule

Verified, reported, or unknown

Every record on this site carries one of three states. Verified means the value was read from an official Steam or developer surface and dated. Reported means a community source describes it and the page says so. Unknown means no usable source was found, and the field stays empty.

That last state is the one that matters most. A fabric table with a guessed cost, or a commission page with an approximate budget, looks more complete than an empty one and is far less useful. Where the data is thin, this site says so and points you at the in-game value instead.

Quick answers

Dressmaker FAQ

The same answers are published as FAQ structured data, so what you read here is what search engines see.

What is Dressmaker?

Dressmaker is a sewing and fashion-design simulation released on Steam by Cozy Lives and Free Lives. The official store listing is the primary source for the game description, platform support and current price.

Which platform does Dressmaker run on?

The official Steam listing supports Windows and macOS. The listing does not confirm console or mobile availability, so treat those platform claims as unverified.

How do commissions work?

A customer asks for a garment under a budget with minimum or maximum attribute values attached. You read the request, plan a pattern and materials, then check the finished values against those limits.

Does the checker solve a commission for me?

No. It tests the budget and attribute values you enter. It never invents a fabric cost, a pattern requirement or a commission record that has not been verified against a source.

Why are the fabric and pattern tables empty?

A record is published only after its values can be traced to a dated source. Unverified numbers stay out of the tables rather than being approximated, so the collections grow as evidence arrives.

Are there Dressmaker codes?

No redemption menu or code has been verified in the checked sources. Dressmaker is a single-player Steam release, so new content arrives through game updates rather than through a code box.

Where do the game facts come from?

Store details, the achievement list and developer announcements come from official Steam and developer surfaces. Each record on this site carries its source type and the date it was checked.

Is this an official site?

No. Dressmaker Guide is an independent player reference and is not affiliated with Cozy Lives, Free Lives or Valve. The official Steam pages remain the authority for anything that can change.
